Titanium Implant in Big Toe Update

To this listing

Well today for me marks the one month date of my surgery, I had on Nov 18th, I wanted to update and let y'all know how things are going on the implant, I am very thankful, and honestly would exercise information technology again in a Heart beat and can not wait to have the right ane done this coming year.
I am so thankful I did this, and am very impressed with the recovery fourth dimension, the healing time and almost of import I am no longer in pain, later on all this is my third surgery, the first surgery with pins that went wakko in my toes and fusion.
Here I am, I have now a make new articulation in my big toe and Its incredible.
I have posted earlier, and One person said y'all can not tell in such a brusk time, merely I tend to differ on that opinion because I tin can tell the divergence its just amazing, I accept no hurting and thats what nosotros all strive for, I have a little hurting simply from the side of the foot where they reemed on it during surgery, merely I am now in my shoes, wearing both of my orthotics made by the Dr. and am doing wonderful and very minimul pain killers now which is awesome.
I would really expect into any of you lot that are thinking about fusing the articulation to have a new joint put in, I retrieve y'all volition be amazed at the final results.
As soon every bit I can in a few months down the route probably looking at like April possibly, I will be going in and having the right one done, I am giving this one still more time to completely heal and make sure I take full weight on information technology fully before the other 1 tin be done, but I would highly recommend it to anyone, Well at least it was the best fashion to go for me its your choice, You may have heard stories about implants, how they fail etc, but now days its similar a walk in the park, Yous have more mobility, I can bend my toe, I tin can walk now totally no problem and in shoes just 3 weeks afterwards the surgery, I volition say I am not running marithons, and still beingness conscientious on it and babying information technology, but Its just incredible how the outcome has been. I am a 46 year old female person and the option was fusion or joint replacement for me, I had pins put in past another Dr less than two years ago with cleaning of the joints etc and the pins dislodged litterely infact when I simply had this washed the New Dr told me he almost was not sure if he could get those impacted pins out of my toe, I accept most been thinking of taking this other Dr who put them in to begin with to court, but honestly it does non matter at this point to me because he got them out, I mean dug them out of my foot and said no wonder you were having so much issues, so Hither I am reporting on Joint implants. Please exercise not be afraid of the idea if you demand it, People accept hip and other joints replacements all the time with much success, and Mine but happens to be on the big toe joint and its awesome now, Its the last they can do, if for some unknown reason it slipped or something, the worse case senario would be to go back in and remove a little from the hip and go from there, simply I am not going to sit here and worry nearly it and so far so good, and I accept real positive things to say most the new joint and how its doing. I take been into my Podiatrist many times since the surgery and exrays, etc are all lookiing great, and he and I are very pleased thus far. I volition continue to update if annihilation happens and let you all know, but seriously, If yous are having bug with your joints to not exist afraid of request questions, and finding out if its a skillful choice for yous, Its not scarey, the recovery is much less than a fusion and I think you lot will be amazed at the final results.
Laissez passer this along to your Foot Dr or surgeon if yous desire and I would be more than than happy to give you lot all the information you need or would like to have if you have more than questions, you can electronic mail me at [removedl] and I would be happy to answer whatever questions well-nigh the implant if its something you may be considering.
Karrie

I am on crutches however. I had a totally different type of surgery than you had though. It sounds like you lot had some bad doctor(s) in the past also. Have care and keep on healing!

Hi to you, I am so lamentable to here that you had these problems besides, and y'all are notwithstanding in crutches, I know I have been there, I know what you are going through, and Yes I had a distsy Is that how you lot spell it lol well you get the point Doctor before, and these dang pins jamed inside of both of my big toes, I just read an article seriously about a women who sued and won thats merely amazing, I was thinking about it just and so again, like I said whats the point, I am a Christian Lady on a worship squad, and I just within me can not meet, well who knows sueing a Doc, and it would take alot of paper work etc, I had other issues as well with this by Doc, on my second surgery they forgot to tell me that our insurance just changed over and later all was said and washed well a pecker to the tune of one,500 dollars not covered like the first one, hmmmmm that right there ticked us off and here it is two years afterwards, bill went to a collection etc and I refuse to pay him considering they never told me, so right there I have some grounds for something wouldn't you think? This Dr, cleaned out both joints of the big toe and put those dang pins in them, and here I am two years after with implants existence put in them both, well at least 1 for at present the other every bit I said next year.
I may merely wait into getting an attorney, but its funny, these two Drs are like walking distance apart from oneanother, and I am not sure y'all know how it is, if this new Dr would speak up on my behalf, you lot know how some can be because I they are and so close together their offices, so on that note not sure, only I honestly recall I may have a case against this guy, so I only might look into it who knows.
I am sorry you are notwithstanding on crutches though, I actually experience for you, information technology sucks, Yesterday was then bully my husband and I went shopping and I am doing fine, although I will say I had to sit and am not running around the stores yet, I told him today I would honestly infringe my moms little motor scooter she has an extra i sitting effectually, she has Multiple sclerosis and she has I swear like 3 of them and then she has this really small-scale little cerise one she does not use and I used it like a week after my surgery, and gave information technology back to my dad simply I am going to go get it considering later on last night only a few hours on my foot I was exausted and so I think that will help finishing up our Christmas shopping today lol.
I pray yous will feel better, What kind of surgery If y'all do not mind me asking did you take? And I would also like to know about your wakko Dr yous had in the past.
Blessings for a Wonderful Christmas to All On this Listing
Karrie from Washington Country

Smile Re: Titanium Implant in Big Toe Update

Howdy Karrie,
Information technology was good to hear from you. Pitiful it took me so long to respond dorsum. You asked what kind of surgery I had. Long story - most of which I posted on another thread (Bad bunion surgery) which is many pages back now. But to try make a very long story short, I started out with bilateral bunions and ane hammertoe 3&1/ii years ago. I have had two wacko doctors in the by, not only one. I am seeing an orthopedic foot and ankle specialist now (tertiary Dr.) and I believe she is going to fix the mess the other 2 doctors left.

I have had quite the sampling of the possible complications that can occur with bunion and hammertoe surgery. I don't think the 1st md really messed things up too much - she just didn't get anything fixed as expected. My 2nd physician was apparently obsessed with cutting bone. He cut as well much bone on 2 of my toes on my right foot and actually messed it upwards so my new dr. did mostly salvage surgery although I too had surgery for a bunionette this time along with the other procedures. My bunionettes weren't pain until I started walking on the sides of my feet to avert hurting in other areas.

Anyway, I have been on crutches for 6 weeks at present and I run into my Dr. a week from Tuesday, on the 6th. I take pins sticking out of ii of my toes. I hope the x-rays indicate enough healing for the pins to come out fifty-fifty if I need to remain on the crutches for a while longer. At least then I could put a sock on my foot and not accept to worry about knocking my pins. My human foot feels and then common cold all the time. I article of clothing a sock on it with the toe cut out of the sock because of the pins. I am trying to be patient. I knew this surgery and the recovery wouldn't exist fun and I would non have gone through more surgery if it weren't for the hurting I was having.

I am glad your new physician was able to become those pins out. Were your joints arthritic? I know what you hateful well-nigh thinking about getting an attorney. I am not into sueing but I DID toy with the idea. Information technology is too late for that now though. The SOL in my state is i year and I didn't want to waste any more of my time or energy on my previous md. I merely want to concentrate my energy on recovering from this last surgery I just had.

I promise yous had a great holiday and I will pray that things get well for you likewise. BTW, y'all said you may take your other foot operated on in April? Aforementioned hither if my right human foot is healed upwardly enough by then. I volition not have to have every bit many procedures done on my left foot every bit I did with my correct and no pins either. I will exist on crutches once again though. Well, take care and I hope to hear from you once more soon.
